All members can purchase raffle tickets, whether they are attending the event or not – and all members can join the Zoom for free on the night, when all raffle prizes will be drawn.
Raffle prizes
We have over a dozen bottles as raffle prizes worth nearly £2,500 donated by other Club members and Springbank themselves, including a Longrow 21yo, a Longrow Red 15yo, a Hazelburn 10yo cage bottle from the distillery, the rum cask matured Longrow 17yo from the 2021 online festival, an original Springbank Green, a green boxed Springbank 15yo, a set of five core range samples including the 30 year old, the very last bottle we have of the Club’s own 20 year old Springbank release from last year… and an incredible top prize: from Berry Bros & Rudd’s Exceptional Casks range, one of just 219 bottles ever produced from a 26 year old Springbank cask strength single cask hogshead (more details here). Further donations to the raffle would be very welcome – please contact us.

Raffle prizes should be collected from Melody as soon as possible. Any raffle prizes that remain at Melody on 12th July 2023 will be forfeited.

For the current Admin Team’s final Capital Whisky Club event we’ve sourced members a cracker of an evening. In June we’re both delighted and excited to welcome Melanie Stanger to the Club to share a diverse selection of single malts produced by Campbeltown’s Springbank Distillery.
Melanie is responsible for overseeing Springbank’s UK sales and distribution as well as taking responsibility for multiple European markets and of late worldwide markets in addition. Her roles at the distillery primarily focus on market visits and product development. Melanie lives in the wee toon (Campbeltown) with a view of the distillery from her house meaning she is never far away from the sights, sounds and smells of the distillery!

The Good Cause
The chosen nonprofit is a cause very close to Kenton’s heart: ETCO – Empower The Community works in Kenya’s largest slum Kibera in Nairobi to improve the lives of children and young adults. ETCO runs a weekly education and feeding programme that feeds over 350 children a week, where children are engaged in various activities including life skills teaching, computer classes, sports, distribution of learning materials and drawing classes, African cultural music and dance training, and then food is distributed – the children eat first, and any leftovers are shared with typically 150 more community members. This programme costs approximately £100 per week. ETCO has also been trying for almost a year to complete a community computer centre, it finally opened last month running at slightly under half capacity. It needs approximately £1,000 to finish it.
From ticket sales alone, our event will guarantee the weekly programme feeding over 350 children every Saturday for six months, and will buy four more computers and a printer to fully equip the computer centre. With significant raffle sales too, we could potentially cover the education and feeding programme every Saturday for a year.
