Capital Whisky Club: Bring-Your-Own-Bottle Christmas Party
19:30 Thursday 22nd December 2022
£10 minimum donation to Crisis At Christmas
In-person at Melody only
A Festive Format
For December’s Capital Whisky Club, we’re asking you all to bring a bottle to populate a Capital Christmas Dramming table. Please bring one and only one 70cl bottle each. There’s no need to go crazy, but we’d suggest anything from around £50 is more than enough.
1. Does it have to be a full 70cl bottle or can it be one that’s already open?
Open is fine but please make sure there’s enough for folks to share in terms of it being a relatively level playing field. I.E this isn’t “bring a heel” night.
2. Are 50cls acceptable if that is how they were released?
50cl is fine if that’s the original format.
In advance of the evening, label the bottle clearly with your name. We’ll hold a vote for the favourite bottle of the night for a small prize, and likewise by labelling this will allow you to thank those who brought things in that you particularly enjoyed.
The room will be laid out differently to usual, with a few seats around the side and a central table to hold all the bottles. You can have a dram of any whisky on the table – and then should you so wish, find the person who brought it in to discuss it.
With a full bottle from each of you in the room, there will of course be quite the volume of alcohol available. It will be impossible to sample everything, and since Melody’s licence has recently changed, we’re asking you not to attempt to. Have fun, but please be responsible.
At the end of the night you are welcome to take the rest of your bottle home, or leave it for the Club cages at our partner bars for other members to enjoy in the future.
The function room will be closed promptly at 10pm, after which time no brought bottles will be allowed to be shared on the premises.
N.B. Christmas hats are very much encouraged!
